- Pupae - II Environment: 3-4 yrs
- Butterfly - III Environment : 3-4 yrs
At CPS Montessori, the child has to be enrolled in the Montessori methodology for the pre-primary period (2 to 5 years) so as to help the child get full benefits. The child can be then enrolled into the traditional school in 1 st standard. All the rules of the Montessori are followed as per American Montessori International/Indian Montessori Centre.
Language is taught the way it should be. First the sounds of the vowels followed by the consonants are introduced. The numbers too are introduced using the decimal system and the child will be introduced to all the four Mathematical operations by the time he/she finishes his/her third year Montessori. By giving the benefits of Montessori, a solid foundation is laid for the child.
There is a snack corner in the environment and the child is aware of the fact that he/she can have his/her snack whenever he/she wants. There is no time specified as snack-time. We also have extended working hours for senior children to help them catch up with their writing work and number work once they turn 4 years. All CPS Montessori teachers are Montessori Certified and the ratio is 12 children for 1 adult - meeting the specifications of the AMI/IMC.
CPS Montessori Methodology
Our Montessori method respects the innate drive in each child that guides him/her to instinctively take hold of what he/she needs most to learn at that given moment. Maria Montessori discovered that if allowed to indulge this sensitive period, the child learns with greater enthusiasm and thoroughness. This unique feature of the Montessori school cannot be overstated - whereby each child is given the freedom to choose his activities suiting his or her natural curiosity and corresponding to the special needs of his or her sensitive period of inner growth.
The special art of the adults is to respect each child's unique path of learning and growth; at the same time inspiring them to take in hand enough materials and activities that will provide the rich experiences necessary to form a balanced individual.
CPS Kindergarten works Monday thru Friday and has three levels according to age group.
- Pre KG : 2-3 yrs
- Junior KG : 3-4 yrs
- Senior KG : 4-5 yrs
At CPS Kindergarten the child has to be enrolled in the Kindergarten for the required pre-primary period (2 to 5 years) so as to help the child get full benefits.
The child can be then enrolled into the traditional school for his/her 1st standard.
CPS Pre-Primary Day Care Centre
Children from our school as well as schools close by can stay with us, have their lunch and nap for a bit before the activities for evening. We have two trained adults with two support staff to cater to the needs of children of 2 - 5 yrs.
In our Day Care Centre, children enjoy all the benefits. Independent space for each child, focus on eye-hand co-ordination, aim to help the child to explore his/her environment without curbing his/her spirit and most importantly treat and respect the child as an individual.
Our activity centre takes children only after he/she turns 2 years as we are of the firm belief that a child less than this age does need the security of his immediate family and it is after 2 years then he/she will be more open to take on the third environment that is the Activity Centre. Culture and group activities are also the areas wherein the child is introduced to in the Activity Centre.
CPS Activity Centre also has a facility where children who are visiting for a short period from other parts of the world can enroll for a short term. Here they will also receive help to cover the required curriculum to be completed by their own school with traditional school setting of tables and chairs set inside a classroom.
CPS Activity Centre Guides are all equipped with Nursery certified or equivalent qualifications.
Activities include sketching, craftwork, clay work, creative English classes, Sloka class, Western and other dance, instrumental music and singing (classical). For those requiring additional guidance in school work, help will also be given with regard to that.
The Afternoon care facility is equipped with a refrigerator and a Micro wave oven wherein food and milk provided by the parents will be warmed and given to the child.
