EVENTS THAT HAPPENED IN OCT:

  • ESOL - Chennai Public School celebrated English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) Valedictory function on 12th October. Mr. Paul Sellers, the Director of British Council South India was the guest of honour accompanied by Mr. Kevin Coyne, Manager Schools South India (Cambridge ESOL). Mr.Sellers congratulated the school for the active participation of students and the overwhelming results which has enabled the school to acquire the prestigious Sub Centre Status of the University of Cambridge.
  • Music concert - CPS in collaboration with SPICMACAY (Society of Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) made a brave attempt to bring the Next Gen come face to face with Indian Classical Music. If music is the food for the soul then, the CPSites can unanimously say that Padma Vibhushan Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma on Santoor and his team of Pandit Ram Kumar Mishra at Tabla and Mr. Takahiro Arai at Tanpura not only rejuvenated us but uplifted our spirits as well with his invigorating and reverberating performance at Chennai Public School on 20th Oct 2011.
  • Music Univ inauguration – CPS believes that musical intelligence gets better integrated within the scope and context of the other disciplines the child is exposed to at school. Thus we brought in Music Univ to take the classical arts to school children and create a more holistically integrated generation to excite and sustain artistic interest among our CPSites. Parents had an interactive session with Mr. Anil Srinivasan, Managing Director, Music Univ at the Sci Fi Theatre. His well quipped team filled the air with the sweet strings of music that lingered in every heart.
  • Diwali – The Festival of Lights was celebrated with a difference at CPS. To inculcate the habit of sharing and caring for the society among our CPSites, “Child for Child Education” fund raising was organized on Tuesday 25th October, in association with SMILE FOUNDATION, India. Every child was given an opportunity to light a candle to enlighten the life of the deprived.
